81. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Technology has made the world a better place to live. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

TECHNOLOGY HAS AMELIORATED OUR LIFE

In my observation, development of technology has greatly ameliorated our planet to a better place to live. Our daily life becomes more and more convenient with help of advanced technology. People spend less time on road than ever before; communication among folks is much more instant. There are a lot of aspects in which high technology has improved our living situation.

As a threshold matter, computer technology has saved us considerable time in dealing with difficult things. For instance, the Instant Message Software, which allows us to type a few words and send them by simply clicking the Enter key, decrease amount of time messages are transferred. In ancient times, correspondences needed a couple of days to be sent to receiver, while today only a few seconds are required. The concept of auto offices increases our productive efficiency as well.

Secondly, the invention of auto mobiles is another product of technology. In contemporary, it is hard to imagine what life would be without autos. Commuters take bus to go to work everyday; some tourists utilize their private cars to travel around; and elites often drive luxury vehicles to show their status. Consider, for example, former life without autos. People spent several hours in walking from a place to another. Travelling to a different province required nearly a month or so. I believe no one today would like to go back to those inconvenient periods.

Thirdly, some persons who hold the opposite view that advanced technology has made our environment more worse than was in ancient times. Admittedly, deforestation, over amount of carbon oxide and other kinds of demolishment have posed negative impacts on Earth; however, this has nothing to do with development of technology. Moreover, current damaged environment primarily results from our abuse of natural resources. To the contrary of what those people may think, scientists have been being trying their best to improve technology to improve natural circumstances.

In summary, technology has made our Earth a better place to live. Life becomes more convenient; computer communications ameliorates our efficiency; and autos reduce time we spend in moving. Then, in the final analysis, I would support the positive impacts advanced technology has on our life.
